Hi all,
I really don't know if I should address only females because you will be
probably more interested in my blog, but since I do not want to exclude
anyone, for now, I will talk without making distinctions.Well, I think as I have decided to start writing, I should introduce
myself so you have an impression about me before my posts.
My name is Natalia and a few years ago, exactly 6 and a half, I came to live in Ireland. Spanish by birth and most of my life living there, I decided to emigrate to another country for a few months. Then the situation was still not as bad in Spain, of course, that
working conditions have never been any great compared to the rest of
Europe, but at least in my field there was still jobs.
What it really made me decide to change was asking myself what I wanted to do with my life. Having
spent many years studying and just go with the flow ... EGB , BUP , COU, University ... and not to consider another option ... because if you have no career ... they will not want you in any job... I studied Technical Architecture, which I must
say, It took me time and hard work. Nowadays by government decisions and align with
the EU regulations it is not longer even a degree ... but hey, let's leave that aside. I
have to say, I enjoyed studying in college, I liked what I studied
and I think it was an experience I would not change. But I exactly know that in the future I will tell my son: " Study what you want, do what you
really like and do it with passion. Do not get depressed because you
think what you like it does not have options, because who knows ... " Look at the construction boom and now almost all professionals not knowing what to do ...
I
consider myself privileged because I left the country before things
were really bad, simply because I was unhappy with the reality of
what I learned, from books to practice ... is quite different ...I needed a change ... so one summer, I decided to quit the company
where I was working and came to Dublin to spend a few months,
improve my English and who knows ...
So here I was, I found love, another job less stressful.. that was what I needed and I have made this country my home. Needless to say, of course, everything wasn't pink colour from the beginning. I complained about everything, the weather, the food that I missed, healthcare ... all compared to Spain and everything seemed worse ... but gradually the balance now leans on the side of Ireland. Here I have my house... and it seems incredible, but what really
brings me back there every year, every three or four months, is
my parents.
The
presentation is spreading a little, the idea of the blog is to have other activity apart of the office work I do and my job as a
mom( I have a boy, 2 years old, Marcel). I would like to share with you my day to day, interesting topics I have heard or read and activities or events taking place. A bit of everything. I have no intention of writing a technical or scientific blog, just giving my opinion or
my version of things, combining Spanish and Irish stuff in order to have more
variety. I would really love to know what you think and also learn from others, so please comment everything you want... this is an experiment, but I'm excited to spend time with it.Finally, explain that posts will be in Spanish and English
because as I said before I would like to reach as many people as possible.

Realmente no sé si debería de dirigirme únicamente al sexo femenino porque probablemente sea el más interesado en mi blog, pero como no quiero excluir a nadie, de momento, hablaré sin hacer diferenciaciones.
Bueno, pienso que como he decidido empezar a escribir, debo presentarme para que tengáis alguna impresión sobre mi antes de mis publicaciones.
Me llamo Natalia y hace unos años, exactamente 6 y medio, vine a vivir a Irlanda. Yo española de nacimiento y casi toda mi vida viviendo allí, me decidí a emigrar por unos meses a otro país. Entonces la situación aún no era tan mala en España, por supuesto, que las condiciones laborales nunca han sido ninguna maravilla con respecto al resto de Europa, pero, al menos en mi campo aún había trabajo.
Lo que hizo que me decidiera a un cambio, fue realmente el plantearme que quería hacer con mi vida. Tras haber estado estudiando muchos años y simplemente seguir la corriente...EGB, BUP, COU...y carrera como no...para que plantearse otra opción... si si no tienes carrera... no te quieren en ningún trabajo...pues hice Arquitectura Técnica, que todo sea dicho, su trabajo me costó y hoy por decisiones del gobierno y por equiparar con la Unión Europea pues resulta que ya no es ni carrera... pero bueno, dejemos esto a parte. Tengo que decir, que yo disfruté estudiando en la universidad, me gustó lo que estudié y pienso que fue una experiencia que no cambiaría, salvo que en el futuro tengo claro que diré a mi hijo: "Estudia lo que quieras, dedicate a lo que realmente te gusta y hazlo con pasión. No te deprimas porque piensas que lo que a ti te gusta no tiene salidas, porque quien sabe..." Mira el boom de la construcción y ahora casi todos los profesionales del sector sin saber que hacer...
Me considero privilegiada, porque dejé el país antes de que la cosa fuera realmente mal, simplemente porque no estaba contenta con la realidad de lo que había estudiado, de los libros a la práctica... es bastante diferente... necesitaba un cambio...y así un verano, decidí dejar la empresa en la que trabajaba y venirme a pensar unos meses a Dublín, mejorar mi inglés y quien sabe...
Pues aquí me quedé, encontré el amor, otro trabajo, menos estresante, que era lo que necesitaba y he hecho de este país mi hogar. Ni que decir tiene que por supuesto, no lo vi todo de color de rosa desde el principio. Yo me quejaba de todo, del tiempo, de la comida que echaba de menos, de la sanidad... todo lo comparaba con España y todo me parecía peor...pero poco a poco ahora la balanza se inclina del lado de Irlanda. Aquí tengo mi casa...y parece mentira, pero lo que realmente me hace volver allí todos los años, cada tres o cuatro meses, son mis padres.
La presentación se está extendiendo un poco, la idea del blog es tener otra actividad más a parte del trabajo de oficina que realizo y mi labor como mamá ( tengo un nene de 2 añitos, Marcel). Me gustaría compartir con vosotros labores de mi día a día, temas interesantes que haya oído o leído y actividades o eventos que tengan lugar. No pretendo hacer un blog técnico o científico, simplemente dar mi opinión o mi versión de las cosas, combinando lo de allá con lo de acá para tener más variedad. Me gustaría de verdad tener comentarios para saber que pensáis y aprender también de los demás... esto es un experimento, pero estoy ilusionada con dedicarle tiempo a ello.
Por último, explicar que las publicaciones serán en español e inglés ya que como he comentado antes me gustaría poder llegar a tantos como sea posible.
